FAQ
Recording Day Tips and Tricks
Some recommended things to do before tracking day:
-Practice. Duh.
-New Drum heads on the shells, as well as new/ish strings on guitars. It’s hard to overstate how much of a difference that makes.
-Have you taken your equipment in for a check in recently? You’ve seen stuff crap out on stage, it can also happen in studio.
-If needing the files immediately afterwards, bring a hard drive. It’s not a bad idea to bring one to back up on to, just in case.
-Bringing snacks, beer, caffeine, mota, minor creature comforts and a good attitude are all highly recommended.
More options
I maintain a relationship with Estuary Studios, and if you’re interested, we can record there for a discounted rate. Their room, gear and mic selection are excellent, and can help us take a recording to the next level. Finishing overdubs and vocals at the Outhouse is a fantastic, affordable way to make a great record.
Important note!
The main caveat of my space is that we, unfortunately, do not have a toilet. I hope you appreciate the irony.
While gentlemen can figure out #1, we go down the street otherwise. Those of the fairer or nonbinary sex are welcome to use the landlady’s commode inside.
